Project Background

Allclass Kubota needed to protect spare parts from dust and improve staff workspaces. Heighton designed a mezzanine office above the storage area, creating cleaner conditions, additional offices, and a scalable solution for future growth at their facility.

The Challenge

Allclass Kubota faced ongoing challenges with dust accumulating on spare parts stored in the warehouse, resulting from the location and open layout of the storage area. This situation not only impacted on the cleanliness and condition of spare parts but also created a less-than-ideal working environment for warehouse staff, who struggled with limited space and lacked a comfortable area for daily operations. The company needed a solution to protect its inventory and improve working conditions while also accommodating future growth

The Solution

Heighton addressed the problem by designing and constructing a mezzanine office structure directly above the spare parts area. This innovative approach provided a protective barrier, limiting the exposure of spare parts to dust and shielding the area from general warehouse activities. Additionally, the mezzanine created valuable new space, enabling the first floor to be outfitted with partitioned offices. These new offices offer expanded workspaces for both office and warehouse staff, providing much-needed room for the growing team. The strategic placement of the mezzanine not only helped resolve the immediate dust and space issues but also allowed for future scalability, as the new configuration made it easier to add office space as the business continues to expand.

The Results

The completion of the mezzanine office structure set Allclass Kubota up for long-term success in their new Wacol facility. The protective design helped maintain a cleaner storage area for spare parts, while the additional office space improved the working environment for staff. The company now has a flexible and scalable solution that supports ongoing growth, with ample room for future expansions in both office and warehouse areas. This project has enhanced operational efficiency and contributed to a more comfortable and productive workplace.
